On 30 November, as an alumni of Cardiff University, Richard came back to Cardiff University, joined the global week, delivered a talk to current students and staff, in which he gives some suggestions to students in Cardiff University.

Richard says, “For those students who are still studying at Cardiff University, I think they should grab every opportunity, especially overseas opportunities. Cardiff University is one of the best universities and it has such a diverse student base, that does not just culture diverse but also subject diverse as well.”

Being the honorary fellow and alumnus, Richard Parks enjoys his student life at Cardiff University.

“Life in Cardiff University is really a wonderful time for me. Within four happy years, I studied and made great friends here. I am really proud to be one of here,” says Richard.

To face challenges, Richard also has his own perspective.

“Everyone has their own mountain to climb and they have a different understanding of adventure, the internal journey. When you fear something, try to push yourself and change the way you respond to it,” says Richard Parks.

Richard Parks thinks experiences in various cultures and extreme environment make him have a different perspective towards life.

“The places I have been to on the planet and the experience I had performed in some of the world toughest environment has given me a different perspective of the world. Also for all the places I have visited, it makes me appreciate home more. I developed a lot to love my country after traveling,” says Richard Parks.

“We invite Richard to our global week because he has been to many foreign countries and has many unforgettable experiences there.
