Cardiff University’s Science in Health public lecture series is back

The University’s medic engagement team has returned with their annual lecture series.

The Science in health series which runs once a month from October to March, invites healthcare scientists from across the UK and Cardiff to talk about their current research.
You don’t have to be a scientist to enjoy the talks, audiences are usually a mixture of processors, local school pupils and the public.
Karen Edwards, who helps organise the events said, “They [the lectures] are interesting  people from non-medical backgrounds because they’re relevant to their lives.”

You’ve just missed November’s lecture but there’s another one next month

The event is organised by Cardiff university’s school of medicine as a part of their public understanding of science in health (PUSH) program.
Since it’s launch in 2002 the Science in health lecture series has gone from strength to strength and remains popular.
Dr. James Matthews, who is also part of the PUSH team said, “some individuals will come year on year but we also get turnover with the school pupils going away to University.”
The lectures are on the second Thursday of every month and the full program is available here.
If you can’t make the lecture recordings are uploaded to the PUSH video channel after the event.
