Famous urban artist Raxstar leads Valentines Day fundraiser

Urban rapper and recording artist Raxstar and will lead the line-up of entertainment at a charity Bollywood ball in Cathays on Valentine’s Day.
The famous 30-year-old singer and songwriter will perform at the Temple of Peace and Health as part of a star-studied musical entertainment event with a Bollywood twist.
The event has been organised by Radio Cardiff volunteers DJ Rohina and DJ Harry, off the flagship programme Desi Beats. This year marks the fifth year the dynamic duo have presented their popular show on the community station.
“It is a volunteer thing. We do it for the love of music, for the love of culture, for the love of Cardiff.
“Harry has volunteered and fundraised for years. He DJs at events. He plays Bollywood music however he brings in fusion and other cultures as well. This is the first time we are organising something together,” said Nisha Rawindaran, who goes by the MC name of DJ Rohina.

The confirmation of Raxstar was one of the first things arranged by Ms Rawindaran and DJ Harry (Mr Singh), who have been planning the evening for over one year. They got in touch with the musician through contacts Harry Singh has built up over his 20-year professional career in music and performance.
“He, and all the other artists, will appear to a variety of different audiences,” said Mr Singh.
The friends intend to hold a fundraiser with a special difference.
“We want to give people the activity of choosing the charity on the night itself. They can nominate a charity of their choice and the final charity will be the one that gets the most votes,” Ms Rawindaran said.
The business consultant, 37, said the likely charities may include The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity.

“We have got Raxstar, we’ve got the entertainment, we’ve got the venue, we’ve got the food. All we need now are people through the door.”

The exciting evening of live entertainment, romance and food takes place on Friday February 14. Book early to avoid disappointment. For tickets, contact Nisha Rawindaran on 07540 245857.
