The matter of whether the funding of Rhiwbina Library will continue is to be discussed before full council next week as part of the budget debate.
This was confirmed at a cabinet meeting yesterday after residents recently held a community poll asking: “Should Cardiff Council continue full funding for Rhiwbina Library?”
After a turnout of 28.07 per cent, 2,595 people said “yes” in the poll, with 19 saying “no”.
Library funding has been a hot topic of debate in Cardiff recently, after the council announced plans to stop funding seven libraries in the city.
Cathays, Roath, Rhydypennau, Rumney, Radyr, and Whitchurch were also all under threat before protests led the council to reassess this issue.
They have said they are continuing to look in to alternative ways of providing library services.
