RUGBY, dragons and daffodils will be celebrated with pints of locally brewed beers and cider flowing from the taps.
Urban Tap House is organising its own beer and cider festival for the occasion of the rugby game France v Wales and St David’s Day between 26 February and 1 March.
Ed Ap Llwyd, a bar staff, said: “We are getting between 15 and 20 different types of beers and ciders that we don’t usually stock. It will most likely attracts rugby fans as well as all sorts of beer enthusiasts – a diverse crowd.”
Independent breweries from Brecon, Caerphilly, Cardigan, Newport and Pontypridd are taking part in the event. The beers and ciders will be sold at the regular price, between £3.30 and £3.60 for a pint and the bar will continue to serve its regular food menu of homemade steaks.
Mr Ap Llwyd said: “It will no doubt be very busy on Friday and Saturday because of the rugby. St David’s Day is still very important but it is never as big of an event compared to St Patrick’s Day. However, it seems to have been getting bigger in the last few years and people have gone back to celebrating it a bit more.”
