A 14-year-old basketball player who dreams of playing on Wales’s national team is petitioning Cardiff Council to provide more hirable courts.
Marcus Giudice-Maynard, from Pontprennau, said: “I think I would like to play for Wales but I have nowhere to practice apart from my garden. When I reach 100 signatures I want to go to the council.”
If the petition makes a change in Wales the schoolboy hopes the same can then be achieved in England and Scotland.
Chris Smith, who signed the petition, said: “After 25 years of playing, I am absolutely sick of not having the facilities to play when I want to. This should be a UK-wide petition.”
Konrad Marchlewski commented on the petition page: “It would be great if we could play at Roath Park without thinking about if the basket will fall on our heads.”
Marcus is just five signatures away from his goal. If you are interested in signing go to http://chn.ge/1G0pK5S.
