Murder mystery charity club night at Ladybird

A GROUP of Cardiff students are holding a murder mystery night with a difference – to raise funds for a disabled children’s charity.
Six second-year Cardiff Metropolitan University event management students have organised “Murder on St. Mary’s Street”, a murder-mystery-club-night-fusion event which will take place tomorrow night.

The event is the first of its kind in the UK and will put a modern spin on the murder mystery genre.
Anna Tull, Polly Vincent, Lydia Houghton, Ross Millard and Jess Atkinson have organised the event.

Anna Tull, 19, of Heath, Cardiff, said: “The storyline is modern and will be played out via a series of clues projected throughout the night in the form of tweets, blogs, police written statements and CCTV footage.”

Regarding the storyline, and while not giving too much away, Tull added: “A conference has been held at Ladybird by Darryl Bishop in order to further investigate the murder of his brother Jamie last year.
“Jamie is suspected to be a victim of the serial ‘riverside killings’. On the evening the murderer strikes again and Darryl is killed. This is where the guests come in – who now have to piece together the clues to guess the murderer out of 10 suspects.
“It will all become clearer as the night continues.”

The event is being hosted by Ladybird nightclub and it is estimated that around 150 people will attend. The first guests to correctly identify the killer will receive prizes – which are all donated by local businesses.
Ms Tull said: “We are not making any profit from the event. The venue [Ladybird] have kindly given it to us for free with the agreement they take money on the bar but all ticket sales are going to Whizz Kidz.”
