Around 12,000 Cardiff residents will receive a housing questionnaire over the next few days in an attempt for the council to understand housing requirements and improve the situation.

The Welsh Government obliges Cardiff Council to carry out such survey every few years. Researchers David Couttie Associates will carry out and analyse the research.
Amanda Todd, Research Officer for DCA, said: “We were given a list of wards within Cardiff and we selected at random. The survey is an eight-page questionnaire with 40 questions.
“We want to find out about existing housing, what kind of housing people live in and if they have any needs within that existing housing.
“We look at the profile of the people living there, whether they want to move in the next three years and if they would move within Cardiff or outside of the city.”
Homeowners and tenants will receive the questionnaire and should return their answers by March 31. There is no online version but a stamped addressed envelope is provided as well as a phone number for any questions.
