DISAPPEARING double-yellow lines and building work at Radyr train station have caused increased traffic and damage to cars around Windsor Crescent.

Re-tarmacking at Windsor Crescent may have improved the surface but double-yellow lines have not been repainted allowing parents to take advantage when dropping off their children at nearby Radyr Comprehensive.
The extra vehicles have resulted in increased traffic in surrounding streets. Leader of the local neighbourhood watch, David Cargill said driving through Windsor Crescent has at times been “almost impossible”.
At the other end of Windsor Crescent shoppers have also been taking advantage of the new parking spaces.
Marie, who works at McColls near Windsor Crescent, said: “They have removed half the spaces at the train station because of ongoing work. It would not surprise me if this was also part of the cause.”
Radyr train station is going through major refurbishment. Lifts for disabled access are being added to every platform and lighting on hand rails is being installed to help visibility at night.

However, the redevelopment has caused the parking spaces nearest to the shops to be temporarily closed, forcing drivers to look for other options – including Windsor Crescent.
Residents have had their vehicles scratched and dented, as well as having wing mirrors knocked off, as a result of this increased congestion, they told Councillor Rod McKerlich at a recent Police and Communities Together meeting.
One Windsor Crescent resident asked: “Will the Methodist Church allow customers to park there at some points to help congestion in Windsor Crescent?”
Cllr McKerlich said he would speak to the Methodist Church and look into other ideas suggested at the meeting.
