Christmas market started for people who don't like crowds

A CARDIFF businesswoman is organising an ethical Christmas market to help people with anxiety.
Catherine Woods, 39, who owns Green Valley Moves eco-estate agent in Caerphilly, is organising the Christmas market as an alternative to the long-running one in the city centre.
“When I went to vegan groups online there were so many people saying they wanted to go to the vegan festival but couldn’t because of anxiety,” said Ms Woods (pictured).
“I thought that was really awful and wanted to put something on for those people that wouldn’t be cramped.”

The market will take place half inside and half outside the warehouse at Cardiff Speaker Hire venue space on Dumballs Road, Butetown. Staggered entry will ensure the venue doesn’t get too full.
So far 1,100 people have said on Facebook they are interested in attending and 300 people have registered for tickets.
The market will also showcase businesses committed to eco and sustainable living including The Real Junk Food Project, Pip’s Real Hot Chocolate, Vic’s Vegan Bakes and Blanche Bakery.
“We’re all businesses that give back,” said Ms Woods, who is hoping to organise similar markets at Easter and in the summer.
