ALREADY struggling to keep the kids entertained this half term? We bring you seven local activities to last you the whole week.

1. Cardiff Castle
One of Wales’ most popular attractions, Cardiff Castle has something to entertain visitors of all ages. There is a tour of the grounds and audio guide aimed at kids, with tales of prisoners and enemy sieges.
There is also a chance for kids to dress up and imagine life as a soldier in the castle, armed with an ancient musket.
Starting Friday is Warrior School. Held in the 15th century Undercroft, Warwick Warriors will be teaching how to sword fight and become a fully-fledged knight.
Tickets for Warrior School are £10 and is open to 5-16 year olds. These tickets cover the event and access to the Castle grounds, Keep, Wartime Tunnels and Battlement Walk. General admission starts at £9.00 for children aged 5-16.

2. Techniquest
Situated in Cardiff Bay, Techniquest is the perfect ‘rainy day’ half-term outing. It is the longest established science discovery centre in the UK and has loads of interactive exhibitions to teach children of all ages about science.
This week, the centre hosts a number of temporary exhibitions about flight and space.
General admission starts at £6.50 for kids, with adult, concession and family tickets available also.

3. National Museum Cardiff
The museum is a great day out if you’re on a budget as admission is free. Kids will love the opportunity to get face to face with dinosaurs and giant mammals as well as learn more about the animals that roam our planet today.
Based in the centre of Cardiff, the museum is open from Tuesday – Sunday, 10am-5pm. Admission is free.

4. Treetop Adventure Golf
Based within the St David’s Shopping Centre, this adventure golf course is great fun for families with a competitive streak.
There are two courses to choose from: the tropical trail or the ancient explorer, each with unique challenges and characters to meet along the way. Try the challenging 19th hole for a chance to win a free round!
Admission ranges from £4.00 for under 5’s to £26.50 for a family ticket.

5. Cardiff International White Water
The perfect one for your little thrillseekers! This fantastic facility offers everything from indoor surfing and canoeing to kayaking on white water rapids.
Families can take advantage of Family rafting sessions, where the level and speed of the rapids is lowered so that children as young as six can enjoy the course. For those who’d prefer to stay dry, there’s even a high rope adventure trail and a climbing wall!
Equipment, including wetsuits, boots, buoyancy aids and helmets are all available from the site.

6. Cardiff International Pool
If you’re looking to keep your kids active, then look no further. Situated in Cardiff’s International Sports Village, this venue boasts a 50 metre Olympic swimming pool and leisure pool.
If it’s fun you’re after, the leisure pool has a whole host of slides and tunnels to hurtle down as well as a range of inflatables, toys and floats. After all that excitement, you can take a chilled meander down the Lazy River to catch your breath before hitting the slides again.
Admission for children is £3.55, adults £4.65 and there is a family ticket available for £10.50.

7. Cardiff Spy Mission Treasure Trail
For those who love an adventure, this Cardiff Bay trail is the perfect way to spend a couple of hours and explore the Bay area.
Download the trail from the website and get exploring. Solve clues set on existing buildings and crack the code like a true secret agent. The trail is roughly 2.5 miles long and takes 2.5 hours to complete though you can take as little or as much time as you like.
