Cardiff Blues v Uruguay: Dan Fish to make 100th appearance

CARDIFF Blues are taking on Uruguay in a tour match at the Arms Park tonight buoyed by their 37-0 thrashing of Zebre at the weekend.
Captain Dan Fish is set to make his 100th appearance for the club. He is just one of 19 players to have come through the Cardiff Blues academy.
Blues head coach John Mulvihill said: “It’s a great achievement for Fishy to reach 100 appearances following a couple of tough seasons.”
Fish has been plagued by injury over the past few seasons, but tonight will start at fly-half, dictating play in a team made up of both young and older players.

The Cardiff side will be playing a younger team, as the Celtic Cup has been used to develop players against an International opposition, but experience will be provided from the likes of James Down and Lewis Jones.
Uruguay will still be a staunch test for the Blues, being one of the stronger fringe world rugby sides. They are in the same pool as Wales in next year’s world cup in Japan and start their preparations tonight.

In terms of recent form, Los Teros have not played an International since June when they beat Argentina XV 26-20.
Following their game with the Blues, Los Teros face Ulster at the Kingspan Stadium, on November 9.
