The American star hops over the pond as part of her ‘Unmasked and Unfiltered’ tour
AMERICAN drag queen, singer and comedian Lady Bunny is performing at the Glee Club at Mermaid Quay tonight.
The show will feature new parodies of Lizzo, Ariana Grande and Queen.
For Ru Paul’s Drag Race fans, Bunny is set to perform her rap debut which contains all of her favourite queens.
Mark Lewis, 40, from Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, is attending the show in Cardiff tonight, seeing Lady Bunny for the first time.
He said: “I have not been to one of Lady Bunny’s shows before, so I am looking forward to seeing her personality and enjoying the show.
“She doesn’t come to the UK very often, so it’s a unique opportunity to go.”
Lady Bunny was the founder of the Wigstock event, an annual outdoor drag festival that began in 1984 in Manhattan’s East Village.
The festival went on for over 20 years, finally closing its doors in 2005.
She has released singles such as: ‘Shame, Shame, Shame’ and ‘The Pussycat Song’, as well as hosting comedy shows such as ‘Clowns Syndrome’ and ‘That Ain’t No Lady’.
After performing in Cardiff, Lady Bunny continues her tour tomorrow, crossing the border to perform in Bath.
The New York Times described an evening with Lady Bunny as: “authentically scary, sewer-mouthed and gutter-glam fierceness.
“Lady Bunny made me weep with laughter, often while groaning in disgust. And isn’t that what the best low comedy is all about?”
Doors open at 6pm this evening, for a VIP meet and greet, followed by show doors at 7pm and last entry 30 minutes later.
