Instructors want to build confidence for that walk home
SELF-DEFENCE classes are being offered for free for all of February due to what organisers perceive as high crime rates in Ely and Caerau.
Combat Jiu-Jitsu Wales, run by Lee Sterio, is building on its women’s self-defence classes delivered in 2023 to offer training to everyone.
Instructors focus on building confidence, and teaching the laws and techniques of jiu-jitsu, alongside competitive training.
“I want to give everyone the confidence to walk around these streets and have the skills to get home safely,” said Lee.
“Everyone is welcome to come down – it’s completely free for February.”
