Riverside Market’s four December dates for ‘busiest season’ of Christmas

The Sunday market is based opposite the Principality Stadium

RIVERSIDE Market will be open from 10am until 2pm every Sunday until December 22.

While the market opens every Sunday through the year, the regular stalls update their offerings for the Christmas dates – which fall this year on December 1, 8, 15 and 22 – while some extra craft stalls are added.

Megan Howe and her husband James – who run Howe’s Dish of the Day – adapt their menu to appeal to the Christmas spirit, including roast turkey dinners.

“The farmer’s market is fantastic at Christmas, with lots of unique products available from all the small traders which makes wonderful gifts and treats for the festive period,” said Mrs Howe.

In the neighbouring stall, In Your Face Cakes by Meg adapts their menu to include brownie and blondie Yule logs, Christmas cakes and cupcakes.

John Thomas from Penrhiw Farm Organic Meat sells organic Christmas turkeys from Penrhiw Farm and Cefn Coed Farm and says the market has “plenty of choice”.

As well as the festive food products, Riverside Market has added craft stalls for the Christmas period which could include candles, and homemade wooden and ceramic products.

Situated opposite the Principality Stadium, Riverside Market has been selling a range of food and crafts for more than 20 years.

Advertised as “one of the key food attractions in the Welsh Capital”, the market attracts many visitors every Sunday.

The Christmas period is Riverside Market’s “busiest season”, according to its Day Manager, Duncan Higgitt.
