Cardiff’s influential bike buses are picking up speed

With almost a million children being a part of school bike buses nationwide, Welsh founder Hamish Belding talks about one of the largest yet in Wales.

BIKE buses are becoming a more and more popular way to travel to school.

Hamish Belding helped set up the first in Wales, and continues working to expand the project.

He works with Sustrans, a cycling charity, to set up events for bike buses.

This bike bus is part of the Big Walk and Wheel Challenge, which tries to get kids travelling to school without a car for two weeks.

In fact, it’s actually one of the biggest in Wales so far, with three different schools joining together to make the commute.

These were Radnor, Treganna, and Pwl Coch primary schools.
