THIS year is set to be the busiest yet for Santa’s Post Office in Cardiff Bay which received more than 200 letters on its opening day.
The Mermaid Quay attraction, which opened on Sunday, gives children the chance to write a letter to Santa with the help of elves and post it into a festive letter box for free.
The young customers can then watch its journey to Lapland on an interactive map and look forward to a reply from Santa after a couple of days.

This is the third season for Santa’s Post Office but the first time it has raised money for charity.
It has chosen Tenovus Cancer Care, a Welsh charity which provides people who have cancer or know somebody who does, with treatment and emotional support.
Ms Welch said previous visitors, surprised that the attraction was free, said they would happily donate money to a good cause instead.
“It’s entirely voluntary, so if people don’t feel they can afford to donate they don’t have to,” she said.
So far, Santa’s Post Office has raised £400 for Tenovus Cancer Care.
Alexander Smith, Tenovus Cancer Care Community Fundraiser for South Wales, said: “We are delighted to have been selected as the chosen charity for Santa’s Post Office.”
“The money raised from the Post Office will go towards helping us bring treatment, emotional support and practical advice to the heart of the communities across Wales and England”.
Halogen UK, the company behind the attraction, has worked with Tenovus on other fundraising projects over the past few years.
Ms Welch said: “They were an obvious choice as our charity partner.”
- Santa’s Post Office is open for six more days, from 11am to 4pm every Saturday and Sunday, with the final opening day being Sunday, December 18.
