Cardiff City legend Craig Bellamy, current winger Craig Noone and Anthony Gerrard, former Cardiff City football academy prospect are all set to feature in this star studded encounter.
They will be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Thierry Henry, Didger Drogba, Xabi Alonso to name but a few of the superstars on display.
Liverpool’s talismanic number 8 has picked an outrageously good attacking trio in Thierry Henry, Fernando Torres and Luis Suarez, while Carra has gone for brawn with Didier Drogba, Craig Bellamy and Dirk Kuyt leading the line.
In a video recorded at Melwood training ground Steven Gerrard said: “You can’t buy experience” which was rebutted with typical scouse wit by Carragher who said: “LA Galaxy did!”
Officially the game is a charity match for the Liverpool Foundation as well as Alder Hey Hospital, Claire House children’s hospice, Positive Futures, Centre 56 and Cash for Kids. the match sold out, it’s expected to raise over £500,000.
In addition to this the game is effectively a tribute to Steven Gerrard, who will be departing the club at the end of the season to join MLS side LA Galaxy.
