The ‘vulnerable woman’ called a care worker a ‘f—ing slag’
A ROATH woman phoned a healthcare service 150 times in one day and called a worker a “f—ing slag”, Cardiff magistrates heard.
Heather Leither, 49, of Moy Road, made the calls to Cardiff and Vale University Health Board on September 22 last year.
Healthcare workers called the police after Leither insulted staff member Jennifer Wyatt, said Gregory Lloyd, prosecuting.
Leither has mobility issues and is partially deaf, defence solicitor Tim Petrides told the court.
Her behaviour indicates autism and a personality disorder and she does not feel she has had the help she needs, he added. A lack of support was “part of the problem”.
“No matter how exasperated Ms Leither had become, there should have been an element of pulling back before you make calls,” said Mr Petrides.
“Hopefully she doesn’t need to resort to this kind of activity to get help going forward.”
Leither admitted failing to comply with a community protection notice that was issued two years ago, following 48 previous complaints.
“We have listened very carefully to what has been said today and we heard that you have pleaded guilty,” said magistrate Julie Helen Johnson, fining Leither £80 and ordering her to pay a £32 surcharge with £85 costs.
