In the mood for some theatrics? Then the Sherman Cymru is the place to be on 13 and 14 November. Bringing the glitter back to Wales, the International Welsh Cabaret Festival (IWCF) will make its debut with a two day event.
Co-founder of IWCF Stephanie Gawne says, the festival will not only be a melting pot for performers and promoters to network, but also put Cardiff’s “fringe culture” on the map.
That Friday will showcase 12 upcoming acts, culminating into the first Cwtch Awards. The winner will join the prestigious line up taking the stage at Saturday’s Gala Night.
IWCF will bring together Europe’s finest – from Lou Safire, Aurora Galore and Kiki Lovechild to George Orange and Sweden’s Lady Francescca. “It (IWCF) started off as a wishlist of what we would like to go and watch,” adds Gawne, “and we wanted to have them all on one night in Cardiff.”
The festival promises to offer glamour, singing and that je ne sais quoi.
