Police go door to door after man’s body is found in Cardiff city centre

Police are investigating what they describe as the ‘sudden and unexpected’ death of a 39-year-old man from Newport. A cordon remains on Windsor Lane where the body was found on Sunday evening.

According to a statement from South Wales Police, the man’s family have been informed but there has not yet been a formal identification.

There has been increased police presence around Windsor Place and Queen Street, with police detectives seen going door to door on Tuesday.

In their statement the Head of Cardiff and Vale Basic Command Unit, Superintendent Michelle Conquer said: We understand there is shock and upset in the local and wider community following the sudden and unexplained death of a man in Cardiff city center on Sunday.

“A police cordon is in place while enquiries continue at the scene and we thank the community for their support at this time.

“We urge anyone with concerns to approach one of our officers or contact us by one of the following means”.

The force has asked anyone with concerns or information to contact them.
