Its bustling start from working days’ morning to the close time of the Market. The long queue that always appears inadvertently reflects its popularity.
They design Welsh cakes with various favourite including coconut, plain, Nutella, lemon curd, jam splits, and jam& cream to suit different customs’ needs. Among the lots of choices, diabetic and vegan traditional fruit Welsh cakes are also popular.
They also make a wide variety of different loaf cakes including Bara Brith, a famous welsh loaf, Scone, and diabetic fruit cakes with various slices and muffins available too.
They are not only holding a high score of 4.5 on the TripAdvisor website but also visited by Fox News.
“It definitely is a treasure in Cardiff Market that you can’t miss. If you go to Cardiff but don’t taste their Welsh cakes, you’re in vain,” said Hailey Zhou, an international student who has lived in Cardiff for three years. “Usually British desserts are too sweet for us, but Cardiff Bakestones never disported me.”
“We are almost the most popular store in Cardiff Market, because of our history- we start our shop in the Market very early, but more because of our flavours,” said a baker in Cardiff Bakestones. “Happiness is a warm Welsh Cake fresh off the griddle”.
