A bike adventure next October will give you the chance to see the Western U.S. and raise funds to support Cardiff’s most in need.
Former boxer Nicky Piper is looking for cyclists to join him on an amazing charity trip through America this October, helping him raise money for a Cardiff hospice. If you fancy a trip across the pond, now you have the chance to do it – and for a good cause.
Nicky Piper and the other cyclists will cycle from Cameron, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada. So, if you have nothing to do between October 7th and 15th, then get going!
“Last year I went to the Grand Canyon [by myself] and I can’t wait to go back,” says Nicky, who wants to involve more people this time around. “It will be hard, but I can assure everyone that we will also have a lot of fun.”
All money raised will go to the George Thomas Hospice Care, which provides care for cancer patients and other illnesses.
“Everyone can apply for this, but you will definitely need a bit of fitness training. The more training, the more fun the trip will be,” says Nicky.

You will go on a 350-mile (575km) bicycle journey through a variety of terrains with hills, climbs and descents – with some hot temperatures. So make sure you come prepared, whether you sat on a bike at the gym or trained in the outside.
If you’re interested in joining Nicky and other cyclists on this amazing trip, you will need to pay only £449 to register. You will also need to raise at least £3,900 in sponsorship, but you can get help and advice to do it from Nicky himself.
You can raise this money whatever way you like, be it selling homemade cakes, crowd-funding online or selling your old clothes at farmer’s markets.
The sponsorship is especially important, as you won’t be able to join the charity event if you don’t succeed in fundraising this money.
