After the Paris Attack, Cardiff people prayed for all the victims
100 people in Cardiff gathered to pray for victims of the terror attack in Paris this Sunday.
Around 100 people gathered at the Welsh Assembly which was lit up in the three colours of the French flag, and have a silent moment with candles lit praying for victims of the terror attack.
Carlyne Gibb, one of the organisers, said: “It was important to me to show my French friends that they are not alone and that we stand with them against terrorism and mourn their loss.”
“Beirut and other countries affected must not be forgotten or ignored. It was also important to think of all those affected over the years. War and terrorism does not just affect one country.”
One of the participants, Angharad Roche from Cardiff said: “It can happen in London, can happen in Cardiff. It is important for me to show unity. A candle is a very good symbol; it is strong but soft and peaceful.”
Roche said her Muslim friend was also going to come with her but she couldn’t leave small children home at night. “She is a really good person. I know the terrorists are totally different from Muslims.”
