Welsh AMs react to Supreme Court Brexit ruling

WELSH AMs have reacted to today’s Supreme Court’s ruling that the UK government cannot formally start the Brexit process without a Westminster vote.
The court ruled that Theresa May cannot trigger Article 50, to start the process of removing the UK from Europe, without first consulting parliament.
But the Welsh and Northern Ireland assemblies and Scottish parliament do not have to be consulted.
Andrew RT Davies, Welsh Conservative AM for South Wales Central, reacted positively, saying: “The UK Government will now rightly get on with the job of delivering on the will of the Welsh and British people.”

Rhun Ap Iorwerth, Plaid Cymru AM for Ynys Môn responded to Mr Davies saying: “Had to read this twice, but yes, Welsh Tory leader is saying it’s good that the Parliament of Wales has no say over Wales’ interests in this.”
