Children share their inspiring hopes and dreams for 2021

Primary school’s artwork is showcased online as an antidote to lockdown

CARDIFF Bay’s Red Dragon Centre is exhibiting artwork created by the pupils from Mount Stuart Primary School. 

The 2021 Hopes and Dreams online gallery shared over 200 pieces of art over the New Year in the hope of raising spirits. 

Eight classes from the Mount Stuart Primary School in Cardiff Bay submitted a range of artwork with uplifting messages and a variety of dreams for the year ahead. 

Some of the pupil’s hopes for 2021 include spending more time with family, Black Lives Matter and stopping racism, and saving turtles.

Spreading a bit of joy from Cardiff Bay to the rest of the world!

Emma Borley, headteacher at Mount Stuart Primary School, said: “In a difficult year, our Mount Stuart pupils have provided some much-needed optimism and hope for the future as part of this project.” 

A happy hope for 2021: No more Covid-19!

Emma Constantinou, marketing manager at the Red Dragon Centre, said: “We have been absolutely blown away by the pupils’ efforts and are proud to display the inspirational words and artwork created throughout the New Year.”

The Red Dragon Centre team wanted to share uplifting messages and a positive outlook for the New Year ahead.

‘Have hope, believe in hope, you need hope!’
‘Hope is me. Hope is to see my family. Hope is seeing birds!’
‘I hope there is no more racism. I have a dream that everyone is treated equal. I have a dream that we have a better future.’
‘Test successful – cure for Covid-19.’
