But this time the hit Channel 4 series is looking for restaurants to take part
THE award-winning TV series, Come Dine with Me, is in Cardiff getting ready to film a new series.
The show usually follows groups of strangers cooking up three-course meals and competing to be crowned the best dinner party host for a cash prize.
But Come Dine with Me’s newest season will come with a twist. Restaurants in Cardiff and Newport will instead go head-to-head for the title of best eatery and a chance of winning £1,000.
Rachel Willingale, 22, is a big fan of Come Dine with Me and is excited that the show will be coming to South Wales.
“I think the new show is a really great idea. It can help local restaurants get on the map and allow more people to know about them. But it would be great if Swansea was a part of it too,” she said.
South Wales has been featured many times in Come Dine with Me’s previous format. The crew filmed an episode in Cardiff last year.
Sasha Risner, the casting producer of Come Dine with Me, said Cardiff was chosen as a filming location because of its wide range of cuisines.
“Considering the amazing variety of unique and delicious restaurants all over South Wales, there will be some hot competition. We are looking for restaurant duos with bags of personality who are up for the challenge,” she said.
This time, contestants will be scored on numerous categories including food, drink, service, atmosphere and overall experience.
Come Dine with Me is still looking for restaurants to participate. Applicants can be chefs, restaurant owners or even waiters looking to showcase the local business they work for.
Contestants must be over 18 and permission must be provided by the restaurant owner for filming to take place during service hours.
Filming will take place between April 11 and 13. To apply, click here to be directed to Come Dine with Me’s main website.
