Meet one of the unsung heroes keeping radio alive in Cardiff

Ceri Stennett has advice for budding broadcasters after seven years on the airwaves

IN the age of the podcast, local radio is still alive and well.

A diverse group of over 100 volunteers contribute to Radio Cardiff, one of the capital’s favourite radio stations.

Ceri Stennett is one of those volunteers, giving up his Tuesday mornings to host his chat show Come On In.

In an interview with The Cardiffian, Mr Stennett shared stories about his seven years in radio presenting. You can view the video below or via the Cardiffian YouTube channel.

He said: “It’s a gentle conversation. You are trying to be people’s friend, you are trying to be company.

“I think if the tone of your voice is friendly, people enjoy it.”

Radio Cardiff broadcasts on 98.7 FM and online. Come On In can be heard between 9am and 11am on Tuesdays.
