The station’s steep footbridge poses a huge obstacle to the disabled and people with pushchairs
A LIFT should be installed at Eastbrook station after surveys of its users highlighted access problems posed by the footbridge, say campaigners.
“It’s really user-unfriendly, if you like, for people with mobility scooters and mums with pushchairs,” said Malcolm Phillips, Plaid Cymru community councillor for Dinas Powys.
Network Rail has nominated Eastbrook station for ‘Access for All’ funding from the Department for Transport.
They are still waiting for an announcement on any funding that is to be allocated to future ‘Access for All’ projects.
