More than 100 cyclists took to the streets for Wales’ biggest inclusive cycle ride
A GROUP of more than 100 cyclists took to the streets of Cardiff for Wales’ biggest inclusive cycle ride.
The third annual Ride for All, a mass cycle ride organised by Pedal Power Cardiff, made its way through Cardiff city centre on Saturday, June 8, to celebrate the charity’s mission to make cycling accessible for all ages and abilities.
Riders could choose to take part in a two-hour ride or one-hour ride which both set off from Pedal Power’s cafe in Pontcanna. The two-hour route took cyclists right through the city centre, passing iconic Cardiff landmarks such as the National Museum, Cardiff Castle and the Principality Stadium.
“It really is a ride for all ages and all abilities,” said Gabe Taylor, engagement officer at Pedal Power Cardiff.
“It’s about celebrating inclusive cycling in Cardiff and promoting all the work that Pedal Power does.”
Pedal Power charity was established in 2000 with the aim of encouraging and enabling everyone to cycle. The charity hires out 25 different types of bikes and trikes to suit different accessibility needs and preferences.
“Cycling is a great leveller,” said Sybil Williams, founder of Pedal Power.
“People can come here and achieve and enjoy themselves.”
