Commuters hit as train app is affected by rush hour glitch

Transport for Wales is investigating after passengers were unable to view their tickets or check timetables

THE Transport for Wales app shut down on Friday morning (March 14) leaving commuters unable to access their tickets during rush hour.

According to TfW, the app was unavailable for a number of hours but is now up and running for most customers.

Some service users were unable to load their tickets, use pay as you go services or check live train times.

The TfW app allows customers to buy and access tickets and browse rail journeys across Great Britain.

TfW said it was not yet able to confirm what caused the glitch but app developers were investigating.

A spokesperson for TfW said: “Due to a technical issue the Transport for Wales mobile app has been temporarily unavailable for some customers today.

“We’re working hard to resolve this as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.

“Our customer services team can be contacted via Whatsapp on 07790952507 and for journey planning customers can use the National Rail website and app.”
