The Tap and Cellar will sell locally brewed beer – and wine
RHIWBINA is getting a new micro-pub on the site of a recently closed café.
The new Rhiwbina Tap and Cellar and will sell locally made beer and wine to consume on-site or take home.
The new pub hopes to target local residents with a craft (small batch) beer selection from independent brewers, similar to their other site in Radyr– The Radyr Tap.
The application for an alcohol licence comes from Suburban Taps Ltd, who trade as Vale of Glamorgan Brewery.
The Barry-based brewery produce a selection of craft beers which are sold across Cardiff and the Vale.
The micro-pub will be on the old site of The Olive Tree café, which closed in August as a result of the pandemic after 35 years in business.
Located opposite the Co-op on Hoel-Y-Deri, the new venue hopes to have some outdoor seating to be used in the summer months.
Residents are being encouraged to have their say on this application before the consultation period ends on March 16.
