Where to shop on a budget in Cardiff to recreate the London Fashion Week styles

Charity shops provide feasible fashion options after the London Fashion Week left a dress shaped hole in our banks

After the models on the runway and attendees on the streets donned the trendiest outfits at London Fashion Week, a fashion lover might be tempted to go shopping and buy everything in vogue. However, most people don’t have the money to refurbish their closet after every fashion event. Fortunately Cardiff citizens are lucky to have many charity stores from where they can buy clothes for much cheaper and still make the fashionistas drool.

“You get branded stuff which is in usable condition for a much cheaper price at charity stores. Sometimes, you get rare things like clothes that are not in trend anymore and are cute,” explains Namita Nidhi a regular charity store shopper.

Charity shops in the UK receive donations from people in the form of used goods, very often clothes, that are in a good condition. Then these shops sell the clothes at much cheaper than their original prices and donate the money earned to the causes that they support.

In Cardiff, these shops are spread all around the city including the city centre. Anybody can go and buy products from these shops and make a donation while acquiring a rare find. Here are some buzz worthy styles to recreate.

 Beige colours

Beige was the biggest colour at the event and the stores we visited had hangers filled with all shades of beige. You can style beige coats with skirts and make another statement inspired from LFW’ 19

Floral wallpaper prints

Richard Quinn and Simone Rocha were one of the many designers to feature wallpaper florals on their runway collection. This style goes proper old-school which is a perfect find at charity stores and looks good with every footwear.

Granddad jumpers

The likes of JW Anderson, and Victoria Beckham featured jumpers for the old man on ladies. You can style these jumpers with a skirt and printed tights.

Mid-length skirts

Mid-length skirts were another trend that resurfaced. You can style these commonly found pencil skirts with biker boots.

Different trench coats

LFW broke the monotony of the usual beige trench coat with belts and charity stores second that trend. You can style these coats with skirts or wide legged pants and boots.

Long puffer coats

The puffer jackets and their trend turn bigger for the next season. Wear the long puffer over a dress to jazz it up.

Apart from other branches of the mentioned organisations, there are RSPCA, Islam Relief Shop, British Heart Foundation, Tenovus, Bobath Charity Shop and many others to buy the best trends from.

One disadvantage of these shops is that they only have a single product, and while it gives these products an edge, it does leave the shopper uncertain of being able to find the exact product they want. The products photographed here may also have been sold out or in a different size, but the visitor will find something unique once they enter the store regardless.
