From Riverside to the Senedd: Graffiti to Influence Government

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds has been out in Riverside showcasing local artists work to gather public interest in farming policy.

If you were quick this week in Riverside, you might have spotted five incredible pieces of graffiti artwork surrounded by enthusiastic people from the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). In partnership with the Wales Environment Link a network for environmental, countryside and heritage NGOs in Wales

They were out showing their support for the Public Goods Scheme which stipulates that farmers will be paid for delivering public goods like healthy soils, clean water and clean

RSPB has been campaigning since June to gather public support for the scheme which they would like to see replace the common agricultural policy. They have gathered around 4000 campaign responses these responses have been formulated into an open letter.

The Graffiti which was designed by a local artist Amelia Unity has been used to showcase the decline of nature in farmland areas of Wales.

This artwork along with the open letter was taken to the Senedd building and presented to Cabinet Secretary for energy, planning and rural affairs, Lesley Griffiths.
