A Cardiff youth centre is inviting residents to have their say in the design of a new mural which will replace one which has fallen victim to vandals.
North Ely youth centre, which is on Pethybridge Road and has recently been saved from cuts, is undergoing improvements to the appearance of the building. As part of these improvements, the mural will be replaced, new parking bays including disabled parking will be installed, a paved area with new cycle stands will be built, a new gate will be installed at the side, and a grassed area will be removed.
These improvements began on January 19 and are to take around five weeks to complete.
Five workshops have been organised for different groups to have their say on the theme of the mural and work with an artist on design.
On Wednesday February 25, a mother and toddler group are invited between 1:30pm and 3pm, and a juniors youth centre group between 6pm and 8pm.
On the Thursday of that week, community groups are invited between 12pm and 2pm, and seniors youth centre group between 6:30pm and 8:30pm.
Finally, on the Friday, an open community workshop will run between 10am and 2pm where the whole community can come and have an input.
