ONE man has been arrested after an alleged stabbing on Hansen Street in Butetown today.
A 44-year-old man is in custody, in connection with the incident that took place shortly after 9am this morning.
Nine police vehicles and three ambulances were spotted at the scene, along with helicopters above the city centre around 9am.
A police cordon remains in place around Dumballs Road and Hansen Street.
One Twitter user reported that buildings were being told to lockdown during the incident, with armed police on the scene.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: “We thank the local community for their co-operation while enquiries continue.
“A police cordon is in place and more information will be provided as soon as possible.”
