OUR rugby experts are putting their reputations on the line here by predicting the remaining autumn internationals. But could you do better?
If you would like to try your hand the rules are simple. For each fixture, select which team you think will win and by what margin. Points are awarded using our scoring system:
- 10 points if you successfully predict the winner of the match
- 30 points if you successfully predict the winner and the margin you predicted is within five of the correct margin
- 50 points if you successfully predict the winner and the correct margin
This weekend, all the Six Nations sides are in action;
Italy vs South Africa
An Italian side looking to rebuild under new coach Conor O’Shea takes on a South African side in desperate need of a win to boost their plummeting morale.
Philip: South Africa by 18
John: South Africa by 18
Elgan: South Africa by 13
Wales vs Japan
Wales may look to blood a few youngsters against Japan. Japan should not be underestimated – who could forget their toppling of South Africa during the World Cup?
Philip: Wales by 13
John: Wales by 20
Elgan: Wales by 15
England vs Fiji
Perhaps the easiest game to predict the winner of this week. England on the back of their victory over South Africa will be riding a wave of confidence ahead of their clash against Fiji.
Philip: England by 35
John: England by 25
Elgan: England by 50
Scotland vs Argentina
From the easiest to the hardest game to predict. This game will arguably be won by the team whose backs perform the best. Anyone’s guess who will win this encounter.
Philip: Scotland by 3
John: Scotland by 1
Elgan: Argentina by 5
Ireland vs New Zealand
A mouthwatering rematch between Ireland and New Zealand after the Irish victory in Chicago. Ireland will look to make history by beating the All Blacks twice in as many games, but you can be sure the Kiwis will do anything to stop that happening.
Philip: New Zealand by 3
John: New Zealand by 10
Elgan: New Zealand by 6
France vs Australia
An interesting fixture which has divided opinion here. France, another northern hemisphere side going through a rebuilding process, will test their might against an Australian side which humbled Wales in Cardiff just two games ago.
Philip: Australia by 10
John: Australia by 6
Elgan: France by 5
Reply with your predictions and the winner will be announced during next week’s podcast.
